SOUTHWEST FLORIDA – Nationwide, girl scouts have 15 million boxes of unsold cookies in their possession due to the pandemic hindering their sales.
Locally, the Girl Scouts of Gulf Coast Florida decided to donate their unsold cookies to first responders, health care workers, and other essential workers.
Cookies were donated to a foster agency, Publix workers, local firefighters, law enforcement officers, health care workers, Collier Area Transit, waste management workers, local schools, a VA clinic in Naples and Soldiers’ Angels.
Now, the girl scouts need your help. Selling cookies is their main fundraiser and the loss of income impacts their ability to provide low-cost programming for the girls, and maintain their properties and staff.
