You’ll have to get your falafel, hummus, gyros and shawerma to go again this year at the annual St. Elias Middle Eastern Festival.
The Middle Eastern fest is going curbside pickup only for the second straight year due to Covid-19. This year’s fest is July 9, 10 and 11 at St. Elias Antiochean Orthodox, 4988 Onondaga Road (Route 173) in Onondaga.
That means a more limited food menu than in ordinary times, plus no live music, festival marketplace or other usual features.
But the fest, now in its 92nd year, still offers a varied selection of sandwiches, appetizers and desserts.
A portion of this year’s proceed will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY.
Customers enter the grounds from Route 173, then make their way to areas designated for ordering and pickup without leaving their vehicles. Payment can be made by cash or credit card). Vehicles exit onto McDonald Road. (See detailed map).
Hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 9; noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 10; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 11. More info.
