A Girl Scout troop in Mesa recently collected and donated cookies to front-line health care workers at Banner Baywood Medical Center and Banner Heart Hospital.
Girl Scout Troop 3489, which meets at Freestone Park in Gilbert, collected and donated the goodies during this year’s annual Girl Scout cookie campaign as a way to say “thank you” to those hospital workers who have been helping COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. The troop consists of girls ages 6 to 9, according to a release.
The young girls were inspired by the medical teams’ hard work and dedication, along with the endurance of risking their own lives to care for others. These girls look up to the Banner Health clinical teams and were grateful to be able to treat them with something sweet for all their hard work, the release states.
