In today's quick tip, Chef Craig from New Haven shows Tina Redwine how to make crispy and gooey chocolate chip cookies.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.83 cup of all-purpose flour
- 0.625 tsp of baking soda
- 0.75 tsp of baking powder
- 0.75 tsp of salt
- 0.25 lb of room temperature butter
- 0.33 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 room temperature egg
- 0..4 cups of chocolate chips
RECIPE
- Add butter and both sugars into the stand mixer. All the butter and sugar should be light and whipped.
- Whip on high speed until light and fluffy. Be sure to stop the mixer and scrape it down from time to time.
- Add eggs to the mixer and let whip until light and fluffy again.
- Add all dry ingredients. including chocolate chips, and mix on the lowest setting right until fully incorporated
- Scoop cookies out and pat into a patty about 1in. high
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees and 375 degrees if it is a very high temperature oven
- - Place cookies in oven for seven minutes
- When seven minutes are up, remove cookies from the oven
- While they are on the tray, drop the tray flat on your counter from about 1 foot above. The cookies will flatten when this is done multiple times.
- Let the cookies cool at room temperature
