A man broke into a Milwaukee, Wis. bakery back in April, getting away scot-free with stealing some equipment and dough of the financial kind.

So, in order to help police catch him, the bakery’s owners decided to print an image of the thief’s face that they pulled from security footage on a special batch of cookies.

Metro reports that Canfora Bakery owners, Karen and Eric Krieg, printed the security camera image in frosting on a number of sugar cookies in the hopes that someone in the area would recognize the perp.

The couple shared the cookies and the story on Facebook, inspiring those who learned of their intent to share the post all over the social media platform.

“We invite the Bay View community to come on in and take a bite out of the thief while supplies last,” quips the post.

As eager cookie-lovers did, indeed, take a bite out of those cookies, justice ended up taking a bite out of the thief.

KFOR confirms that the man was caught “almost immediately” after the cookies were baked, although the Milwaukee Police Department announced on Sunday that an arrest has yet to be made.

And that is how the crime cookie crumbles.
