Cal football alum Wendell Hunter and his family have jumped on the cookie delivery craze.
The Hunters have opened Butter Pecan Bakeshop in Pinole to satisfy sweet tooth cravings with freshly-baked gourmet cookies. The shop opened in December and offers six kinds of cookies: Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt, Brown Butter Pecan, Cookies and Cream (made with Oreos and white chocolate chips), Banana Toffee, Strawberries and Cream and Walnut Brownie. They have no vegan or gluten-free cookies at this time, but they’re working on it, according to the website.
A half dozen cookies (you choose the flavors) will run you $15 while a dozen costs $30. Order two dozen or more and the shipping is free. The cookies are baked in a commercial kitchen and are available for pick up at 812 San Pablo Ave., Suite 2, in Pinole. You can also get them delivered throughout the Bay Area within one to three days (faster if you choose expedited delivery).
The jumbo cookies (3.5 ounces each) are individually-wrapped and sealed, and will stay fresh at room temperature for up to five. They can be stored in the freezer for up to one month. To learn more or place an order, visit www.butterpecanbakeshop.com.And if you’re wondering where you recently saw Hunter, it was on ABC’s “Shark Tank” back in 2018. He and his former Cal teammates Justin Forsett and Wale Forrester were seeking $300,000 for 10 percent equity in their company, ShowerPill, which makes thick, premium body wipes that work like disposable washcloths. The sharks didn’t bite, but the product gained notoriety.
