Crumbl Cookies opens its first Kentucky location in Middletown.The gourmet cookie shop is located on Shelbyville Road. It's one of 175 nationwide and the first in Kentucky.To celebrate the grand opening, Crumbl is holding a free cookie day on Friday.Any customer that downloads the Crumbl app and visits the store will receive a free chocolate chip cookie.Bakers started preparing for the busy day before the sun came up on Friday."We make everything fresh and in-house every day which is why we start baking at 5 a.m. and we don't stop," said co-owner Claire Tidmore. "Even on the weekends, until midnight."Crumbl Cookie has a chocolate chip and chilled sugar cookie on the menu all the time.In addition, each week, the menu rotates with four different specialty flavors."Our featured flavors this week are macadamia nut, we've got raspberry cheesecake, Nutella mudslide and we have the ultimate peanut butter," Tidmore said.Tidmore said their gourmet cookies and fast-casual atmosphere are bringing something unique to the community."I think we have a ton of great ice cream shops and local bakeries but these are really those grab-and-go cookies," Tidmore said. "So we thought it would be perfect for Louisville, especially Middletown."Crumbl Cookies are available to order online or in-store for carry out, delivery or curbside pick up.The store is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight.For more information, click here.
