The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce announces the Glenn and Susanne Currie Small Business Challenge Grant, grant opportunities of up to $2,000 for small businesses in Concord that are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly those who have been less successful in accessing adequate funding through the CARES Act, Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) or other state and federal resources. The Glenn and Susanne Currie Small Business Challenge Grant is made possible through the generosity of Concord residents Glenn and Susanne Currie, and supported by Northeast Delta Dental, Merrimack County Savings Bank, Bangor Savings Bank, Ledyard National Bank and Grappone Automotive Group. “The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce is pleased to partner with the Curries on this thoughtful initiative and encourages local businesses who need help to apply,” said Tim Sink, president. Funds are limited. Qualifying small businesses should apply no later than March 24 through the Chamber’s website at concordnhchamber.com/challengegrant. Concord Order EasterpastriesNo Easter Dinner would be complete without some delicious Greek pastries! The Ladies Philoptochos of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 68 N. State St., Concord, is hosting a Greek Pastry Sale. Orders can be made by email to easterpastries@outlook.com or by phone, 953-3051 or 225-6320. Selections include Baklava (phyllo with a sweet walnut and cinnamon filling) for $2 a piece; Spanakopita (Spinach Pie) for $3 per piece; Koulourakia (Greek butter cookies) for $3 for a bag of six; and, a Mixed Pastry Box, including 2 Kourambiedes (sugar-coated vanilla cookies), 2 Baklava, 2 Finikia (Greek spice cookies), and 2 Pasta Flora (jam on a pastry bottom) for $15 per box. The cutoff for ordering is March 28; pick up is at the church on April 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pay on pickup; please make the check to Philoptochos. We wish you a wonderful Easter celebration!
