
(WBNG) -- Girl Scout Cookies have arrived in the Southern Tier.
The Girl Scouts say once the cookies arrive, troop leaders can get them to their troops.
They say the program teaches a number of life skills, including: Budgeting, sales skills, and doing math among others.
Organizers say it also makes a difference the whole year.
"This is a really important program," Girl Scouts Engagement Manager Melanie Moon told 12 News.
"It funds opportunities for the groups are going to do whether its taking a trip or earning or paying for badges the uniforms," she said.
Moon says there are 200 million boxes of girl scout cookies nationwide.
