
(WBNG) -- Weis Markets has recalled its store branded Weis Cookies and Cream ice cream due to it possibility being contaminated with metal.
The ice cream has a product number of 041497-01253 and an expiration date of Oct. 28, 2021.
The product was recalled on Jan. 5.
In a statement on the grocery store's website, Weis said:
Not only is food safety a concern for Weis Markets, it is a priority from our corporate offices to our warehouses so fresh food is always a guarantee for our customers. We have been serving our community with quality food products since 1912 and we have no interest in stopping. That's why we let our customers know about recalls when they happen, so you can be sure we are giving you and your family quality food every day.
Weis says all recalled products are immediately removed from store shelves once the company is notified about the recall from the manufacturer or government.
