The Burlington Community Center parking lot is the place to be on Dec. 12 from 9-11 a.m. as it will be the site for Cookies With Santa – albeit with a different twist than the usual Breakfast With Santa from years past.
The free drive-thru event will have only one entrance, from the northeast park, the intersection of Fay Street and S. 14th Street. COVID-19 protocols will be followed to ensure safety, with all volunteers wearing a mask.
As long as supplies last, each child will receive a homemade sugar cookie, along with a Christmas book for each car to the first 150 cars. The first 500 children will also get a goody bag filled with activities they can enjoy at home.
Oh, and don’t forget those Christmas lists. While there is no sitting on Santa’s lap during the COVID-19 pandemic, he still wants to know what each little girl and boy wants for Christmas. The letters can be dropped off at the North Pole Mailbox, which will be onsite.
