LE MARS — The popular Floyd Valley Auxiliary cut-out cookie fundraiser is back for the holiday season.

Now through Dec. 7, the auxiliary’s holiday frozen cut-out cookie dough can be purchased to take the hassle out of Christmas baking, while also supporting Floyd Valley Healthcare.

“The community has always loved this fundraiser as it is an easy way to get your Christmas sugar cookies made,” Sandy LaBahn, auxiliary president, said. “Some organizations have been bought several boxes, baked them and had children and youth decorate as part of a holiday party or get together.”

The cookies come in a box of three dozen sugar cookies in shapes of snowmen, Christmas trees and stars. There is also an option to purchase a box of 16 large cut-out Gingerbread man cookies. All cookies are ready to be baked and decorated.

“These also make a great Christmas gift,” LaBahn said.

Each box costs $16 and last year’s money raised was used to help the hospital purchase surgical equipment.

This year money raised by the fundraiser will go towards purchasing medical equipment for the surgery department or the nursery.

“We are urging as many people to participate in this fundraiser as possible as the auxiliary has been very limited this year because of COVID-19 and unable to have all the fun events that we normally have throughout the year,” she said.

Order forms can be picked up at either the hospital gift shop between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or by contacting LaBahn at 712-539-9584 to receive a form by mail.

Orders along with payment must be submitted to the Floyd Valley Gift Shop or mail to 714 Lincoln St. N.E., Le Mars, Iowa 51031, by Dec. 7.

Pick up date for cookie orders is from 2-6 p.m., Dec. 11, at 610 Third Ave. S.E., Le Mars.

“It is so very important to support our health facility and staff during this stressful time,” La Bahn said. “The cookies will take a little stress out of your holiday baking too, and the money is going to support the Floyd Valley Hospital and staff.”
