Halloween cupcakes continue to debut at the Walt Disney World Resort. We have already checked out Halloween cupcakes at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has its own Halloween cupcake. The “Going Batty” cupcake was introduced September 27. The cupcake is available at Roaring Fork through October 31.
The “Going Batty” cupcake is a chocolate cupcake with cookies and cream filing. It is topped with chocolate ganache and iridescent wafer cookies that form a bat.
“Going Batty” Halloween Cupcake – $5.99
Iridescent wafer cookies are used to create the bat. Iced eyes are added, as well as Halloween sprinkles.
Ghost and pumpkin sprinkles add to the fun.
The ganache keeps everything in place.
The ganache layer is generous. Inside we find the cookies and cream filling.
With chocolate ganache and chocolate cake, this treat is for chocolate lovers. We found the ganache to be the least interesting part of the cupcake. The star here is the cookies and cream filling, which tastes exactly as it should. The large cookie pieces rival the amount of cake.
The cake and cookies were both were both soft and fresh. The chocolate flavor was at the mild end of the chocolate spectrum.
Overall, the cupcake is good, but heavy. The cookies and cream filling is outstanding, but you will need to love chocolate to get to it.
