Mia Villa, 4, of Stillwater, the granddaughter and great-granddaughter of former Amsterdam mayors Mike and Mario Villa, made a delivery of homemade chocolate chip cookies to Dr. Govind C.K. Rao, MD, and his staff at the Neena Rao Medical Center at 1 Front St. in Amsterdam.
Since July, the young baker has made and delivered more than 1,000 cookies to first responders and essential workers that she calls her real super heroes.
Mia has been highlighted locally in the Amsterdam Recorder, The Daily Gazette and several news stations along with gaining national attention on the ABC GoodMorningAmerica.com website and
CBSnews.com’s UpLift website page.
This week she received a generous delivery from The Hershey Company, including ingredients, candy, candy bars and a Hershey apron along with a handwritten note supporting her efforts in kindness.
Her Facebook page, MiasCookieJar3, currently has more than 1,400 followers.
