“Ordering locally is vital,” said Somogyi. “All the proceeds raised through the Girl Scout Cookie program stay local to benefit the girls who live in our communities. These local cookie program sales are one very important way that troops fund their local activities and give back to their communities, and they also fund the council-wide services offered in geographic areas like ours. We invest those proceeds in our programs, properties, support services for volunteers, our local recruitment and renewal campaigns, and much, much more.”
